About myself

Jag heter Ragne Kivimets. Jag är från Estland, Pöltsamaa. Jag är nitton år. Under detta år bor jag i Prästmon och studerar på "Hola Folkhögskola" Sceniskt Förberedelseår.


Why a young Estonian girl went to Sweden?
Even in final gymnasium year I didn't know exactly want I want to do. I thought about jobs like: actor, music therapist, psychologist, high school teacher. I would have choose something what I could study in Tallinn.

I think of myself as very estonian. By that I mean I really love my country and never think of leaving it. I even never would have thought I am going to study somewhere else than my own country. But still it happend..

My town Pöltsamaa has a friendship with Sweden town Sollefteå. In every year they give one Pöltsamaa's citizen a change to get a scholarship to study in Hola Folkhögskola in Prästmon. In May my sister noticed an information about this and introduced it to me. When I aqcuainted myself with this and saw the "dramatic art" course I thought it would be a challeging opportunity for me. So I applied for stipendium and in June the answer came - I got it.




In "Sceniskt Förberedelseår" course we study music, theatre and dance.
I started music studies when I was five years old. Since then I have learned piano 2 (preschool) + 7 (music school) + 1 (extracourse) = 10 years. In high school I studied in music class where I had also singing and guitar lessons. I have participating in many singing collectives: ansambels (alt, tenor), choirs (sopra, alt, tenor), duos, some bands and maybe some more.In September 2010 trusted our church music leader place to me.
In high school I also attented in theatre activity. So it's been 3 years relationship.
I haven't been dancing almost at all. In 3th grade I was a folk dancer but after I have been only in some projects what has included dancing (like this years summertheatre).

Because of music I had to abandon my second love - volleyball (played 5-6 years).


I am not speaking swedish at all but I am learning. It's hard language because it's so diferent from estonian: pronunciation, writing. At least letters are almost the same. In classes people are friendly and speak swenglish (swedish+english). : )



With this year I want to make up my mind what job I want to get in future. I will study in Hola as much it's possible. Hope to learn to dance and emprove my skills in music and theater. I hope to make a big development in this year.
